I have been with HCLTech for over 9 months now. I am very glad to share my thoughts and insights on how it was a life-changing experience. Working as an intern at HCL Technologies can be a valuable experience for anyone looking to break into the corporate world. As an intern, I had the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Throughout my time at HCL, I gained many new skills and a better understanding of how a company operates.
One of the most important things I probably learned during my internship was how to work with seniors. Learning to take feedback and guidance from more experienced colleagues is a crucial part of growing as a professional. By working with seniors, I was able to learn from their experiences and avoid common mistakes that less experienced professionals often make.
During my time at HCL, I also had the opportunity to work with various technologies, including AWS and Terraform. These technologies are becoming increasingly important in IT, so having experience with them can be a valuable asset when seeking future employment opportunities. Specifically, I was able to learn how to deploy infrastructure on AWS through Terraform, which is a key skill in many modern IT roles.
Two projects I worked on during my internship were “A2C” and “Velux”.
A2C: In this project, I worked on creating one-click terraform modules to provision AWS resources to build a demo infrastructure for the containerization of the Applications. Tools like JBPM were used to track tasks and run sprints for development. AWS services like Code Deploy, and Code Commit were used to set up a CICD process for the final deployment.
Velux: My role was to manage the AWS inventory and manage the provisioned resources. Inventory and cost management with clients for the best cost efficiency.
These projects likely provided me with hands-on experience with the technologies. By working on real-world projects, I was able to gain a better understanding of how these technologies can be applied in practical situations. Additionally, by working on projects as an intern, I had the opportunity to collaborate with other team members, further honing my teamwork and communication skills.
Perhaps one of the most impressive achievements during my internship was obtaining certifications in both AWS and Terraform. These certifications are a testament to your hard work and dedication to learning these technologies. Having certifications can be a valuable asset when seeking future employment opportunities, as they demonstrate to potential employers that you have a solid understanding of these technologies.
Overall, my time as an intern at HCL Technologies was likely a valuable learning experience.
